Our Mission

Peaceful Ridge Rescue, located in Davie, Florida, is a Non-Profit Organization that provides much needed medical and dental care, rehabilitation, and adoption services for rescued horses.

Our mission is to rescue horses from neglect, abuse, abandonment, and slaughter; to improve their lives by providing a safe haven for healing and rehabilitation; to find a home for every horse, through a rigorous adoption process, sponsor and foster program; to educate the community through instructional support, and equine-assisted programs.

How We Rescue a Horse

Most of the horses at Peaceful Ridge Rescue have been abandoned or are from abusive or neglected backgrounds.  We work with the SPCA, Animal Services, and Sheriff’s Departments across the state of Florida to provide sanctuary for those equines who have been rescued.

Some of the horses at Peaceful Ridge Rescue are retired Thoroughbred, directly coming from the race track. Thoroughbred’s racing careers are over at age three or four when other riding horses are just beginning. Some are retired from racing due to an injury, some are simply not fast enough to compete on the track.

Any donations we receive takes a huge weight off of us. Even small donations make a difference.

The United Horse Coalition is a broad alliance of equine organizations that have joined together under the American Horse Council to educate the horse industry about the problem of the unwanted horse.
